The Hotel Colomba is situated in a famous building with a rich history. In the mid-nineteenth century the Caffè Michelangelo was the meeting place for young artists - such as Giovanni Fattori, Telemaco Signorini, Silvestro Lega - who founded the Macchiaioli movement. A special plaque on the facade commemorates this important artistic event.
Nowadays on street level you will find an exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's machines. Original paintings and prints in the rooms, hallways and breakfast area add a warm touch. The varied, and rich buffet changes from time to time. Enjoy the excellent coffee and teas.

From the motorway take the 'Firenze Sud' exit and follow the directions for the centre. Once you arrive at the traffic lights at the end of Lungarno del Tempio, turn right. Continue as far as Piazza Beccaria, then take Viale Antonio Gramsci and Viale Giacomo Matteotti, until Piazza della Libertà. Just before Piazza della Libertà, turn left along Via Cavour to no. 21, where Hotel Colomba is located.
By train:
On leaving Santa Maria Novella Station in Florence, you can:
