Strove Castle was razed to the ground in 1300 and the fortress houses were built on its ruins.
A charming town nestling in the Elsa countryside. Of Longobard origin, it was probably very important due to its size and strategic position on the border between Siena and Florence territory.
In 1300 the castle was razed to the ground and those fort houses which still characterise it today were built on the ruins.
