| | Local Attractions: | Catedral Distance: 1 miles This Catalonian Gothic cathedral was begun during the reign of Jaume II and completed in 1601. Its vault is 43m high, and its columns rise 20m. The treasury contains supposed pieces of the True Cross and relics of San Sebastián, patron saint of Palma.
Castell de Bellver Distance: 1 miles Built in 1309, this hilltop round castle was once the summer palace of the kings of Majorca. The castle is well preserved and now houses the Museu Municipal, which is devoted to archaeological objects and old coins. The view is stunning.
Museu d'Art Espanyol Contemporani Distance: 2 miles Now part of the March Foundation, this mansion-turned-museum displays modern art, including works of the 20th century's most iconic Spanish artists - Picasso, Dalí, Miró, Juan Gris, and Antoni Tápies.
Palau del'Almudaina Distance: 3 miles Built by the Moors, this austere palace was once a stronghold of los Reyes Católicos, Fernando and Isabel. Guided tours, which pass through the museum, are available. The pleasant garden off Pl. Reina directly in front of the palace also merits a visit.
