The elegant Georgian façade of The Bath Spa Hotel can only hint at the warmth, style, comfort and attentive service you will receive during your stay. The bedrooms are elegantly decorated, the bathrooms are luxuriously appointed in mahogany and marble. Guests are entitled to complimentary use of our Vital Health and Fitness Club. Close to the Roman Baths, Pump Room and the new Thermae Bath Spa, it is far enough from the bustle of the city to be a perfect retreat. **Please note that we are currently having refurbishment work for our new leisure complex and extra bedrooms, this shold be completed in Spring 2006 We very much look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.

Getting There:

Location: The hotel is situated on the South East side of Bath centre, above and behind Sydney Gardens. Directions from Bristol: After the dual carriageway take the Lower Bristol Road (A36) into the City through two sets of traffic lights. Follow the one-way system and the signs for the A36. Weave under the railway, around the back of the station and pass the Menzies Hotel on your left. At the next set of traffic lights, proceed ahead under the railway bridge, go straight over the next roundabout and then turn right into Sydney Place (by the Holburne Museum). The entrance to The Bath Spa Hotel is 200 yards up the hill on the right hand side. Directions from London: Exit the M4 at junction 18 and take the A46 to Bath - approximately eight miles until the major roundabout.

At the roundabout turn right joining the A4 and follow the signs for 'City Centre'. After one mile at the junction of the A36 and the traffic lights, turn left following the signs for the A36. Follow the road over Cleveland Bridge and past the Fire Station. At the mini roundabout turn right and then take the next left, after the Holburne Museum, into Sydney Place. The entrance to The Bath Spa Hotel is 200 yards up the hill on the right hand side. Air: Bristol International Airport has excellent regional and European flights and also regular flights to New York. There is a helicopter landing pad near the hotel at Lansdown for which advance permission is required. Bristol International Airport - 22 miles Heathrow International - 100 miles Birmingham International - 90 miles Gatwick - 145 miles Rail: Bath Spa station is about one mile from the hotel; the service for London (11/4 hrs), Reading, Swindon, Bristol and South Wales is excellent, with trains at least hourly.

There is a good service to Birmingham and the North via Bristol.

All bedrooms have modem connections. Although we do not have a dedicated business centre the services can be offered by our Reception. The hotel has 6 meeting room, from 10 - 130 people.

Roman Baths & Pump Rooms Distance: 1 miles
A visit to the famous Roman Baths are a must when visiting the city. These Baths were used between 1st - 5th century, when people bathed in the naturally hot spring waters. After a visit to the Baths, take in tea at The Pump Rooms above the Temple.

Bath Abbey Distance: 1 miles
This famous Abbey is where the 1st King of England was crowned. It was built from 1499.

Thermae Bath Spa Distance: 1 miles
From July 2003 visitors to Bath will be able to bathe in the natural thermal waters which the Romans enjoyed 2000 years ago.

Cheddar Gorge Distance: 30 miles
Britain's biggest gorge and features Britain's most beautiful caves

The elegant Vellore Restaurant in the formal ballroom of the original house serves an a la carte menu with classically inspired dishes presented in a modern manner. Head Chef Andrew Hamer uses fresh locally farmed ingredients to produce dishes from around the world.
