The restaurant has an air of elegance and offers an intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy a delicious candle-lit dinner. The hotel has an excellent reputation for good food, which is complimented by a fine, good value for money wine list. All 36 rooms offer ensuite facilities with direct dial telephone, hairdryer, radio, good quality toiletries and tea and coffee making facility.  By Road : We are situated on Longtail Hill (B5284) one mile south of Bowness on Windermere.
From the South and East
From the M6 Junction 36 take A591 towards Windermere at large roundabout take first left B5284 sign posted Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook along this road for 6 miles past Windermere Golf Club on left to junction of A5074 staggered cross roads. Straight across (left and then sharp right) is Longtail Hill. Lindeth Howe is first drive on left 150mtrs down the hill.
From Scotland and the North East
From the M6 Junction 40 take the A66 towards Keswick.
Take either the A592 via Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass to Windermere or continue along the A66 to Threlkeld, turn left through St Johns in the Vale to Windermere on the A591 via Grasmere & Ambleside. At the junction of the A591 & A592 head south to Bowness Bay on the A592. Continue south out of Bowness on the A592 towards Newby Bridge & Barrow after of a mile there is a left fork B5284 - Longtail Hill. Lindeth Howe is the last drive on the right 300mtrs up the hill.

Deposits are non-refundable. No pets are allowed in the hotel. Children under 7 years are not allowed to eat dinner in the dining room with adults, but a seperate Children`s High Tea is available. The dress code for the restaurant is smart/casual, so no Jeans, shorts or trainers and men must wear a shirt with a collar.
