The B and B is ideally situated between Windermere village and the lake (10 mins walk) and close to all amenities including The Beatrix Potter attraction.
The guest house caters exclusively for non-smokers (smokers please don't enquire). It scores highly in the 3 diamond category and has been awarded three red AA diamonds for excellence for the second year running..
St John's probably offers the largest choice of breakfast menu in the area. From a touring visitors point of view or if you prefer healthier alternatives this is a refreshing change. There is the usual choice of cereals and fresh fruit and a good selection of traditional English breakfasts but there are also 20 other tasty dishes including vegetarian and vegan, continental, fresh fish and a number of house speciality dishes.
All guests are offered free temporary membership to a nearby local luxury leisure club (about two minutes by car). The club has a pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and small work out area.
St John's Lodge also provides free internet access for all guests on a dedicated computer. For Laptop owners, radio connectivity is available or you can simply plug in and use ADSL technology.
There is an arrival bay at the front of the building, there is nose to tail parking for about 6 cars at the side of the building, there is a free parking bay opposite and there is plenty of free street parking.
Taking into account the free leisure club access, the free internet access and the amazing range of breakfasts the emphasis at St John's is definitely choice as well as good value for money.

In about 1/2 mile there is a Catholic Church on left.
St John's Lodge is approximately 100 yards on left hand side.
If you reach the Police Station you have gone too far!
If you reach the Lake you have definitely gone too far!

Windermere Lake Cruises Distance: 1 miles
Ferry Service and informative sight seeing boat trips on Lake Windermere. 15 minute easy walk.
Visitors can also take a steam train and discover the contrasting lake and river scenery of the Leven Valley.
Lake District Visitor Centre Distance: 2 miles
Very interesting display of Cumbrian crafts. Nice gardens and fantastic play area for children.
Good tea room.
Hill Top Distance: 4 miles
Visit the house where Beatrix Potter immortalised Peter Rabbit.
Cross the lake by ferry to reach it.
