Extensively refurbished for 2005, the Haytor Hotel is an elegant Victorian country house style hotel set in its own well-maintained gardens near Torquay Harbour. The hotel aims to provide clean, stylish and comfortable accommodation together with 21st century facilities such as multi-channel digital TV in all rooms and free broadband internet access, either wirelessly to your laptop or via a dedicated terminal in the hotel's bar lounge.

All our rooms are spotlessly clean, and are decorated and furnished to a high standard. The Single rooms are on the second floor and have bathrooms with showers. They are equipped with multi-channel digital TV, and have views over Torquay, including limited sea views. Please note that, particularly off-season, we often upgrade single guests to Double rooms - which may not have views.

All our rooms are spotlessly clean, and are decorated and furnished to a high standard. Our Superior Twin rooms are located on the ground and first floors, and are more spacious than our Double rooms. They have bathrooms either with showers and heated towel rails or showers over baths and radiators. They are also equipped with multi-channel digital TV and telephones. Please note that only the ground-floor room is wheelchair accessible and we cannot guarantee that this particular room will always be available, particularly at short notice. If you require the ground floor room, please book early, explaining your accessibility requirements.

 When approaching Torquay from the M5/a380, follow signs for the Seafront/harbour. When you arrive at the seafront, turn left with the sea on your right. Drive along the seafront past the Princess Theatre. Turn left at the first roundabout and follow the road round to the right past the harbour. At the next roundabout (with the Clocktower) turn left, following the signs for Meadfoot. After 100 metres turn right at the traffic lights and follow Meadfoot Road for another 200 metres. The Haytor Hotel will be on your right.
When approaching from Cornwall and Plymouth, first follow the A385 to Paignton then the A3022 to Torquay harbour before following the above instructions from the Clocktower roundabout.
If you decide to take the coastal road via Teignmouth, follow the A379 towards Torquay Harbour (NOT towards the town centre) and when you pass the Bowling Alley, turn left at the next set of traffic lights.
Follow Meadfoot Road (behind the former church) and the hotel will be on your right.
Please note that our normal check-in time is between 14:00 and 18:00. Please indicate when booking if you require a later check-in, but note that we cannot extend this beyond 22:00. | | Business Facilities: |
There is a terminal in the bar lounge connected to the hotel's broadband network. Guests may browse the internet or use web-based e-mail without charge. The hotel also has a wireless network (802.11b international standard), allowing internet access throughout the building for suitably equipped laptops - again without charge. In addition, most rooms have phone points for dial-up access. Standard call box rates are charged, although 0800 numbers (e.g. phonecards) are free.

Only opened in July 2003, Living Coasts is a unique world-class marine animal visitor attraction. The Haytor is one of the closest hotels.

To guarantee reservations a credit or debit card number is required. A DEPOSIT EQUAL TO THE COST OF THE FIRST NIGHT WILL BE CHARGED AGAINST THE CARD UPON RECEIPT OF THE BOOKING; this deposit is refundable - less any payment transaction charges incurred by the hotel - provided that the cancellation is made prior to 18:00 two days before the scheduled arrival date. If notice of cancellation is given after this time, or if you fail to arrive without giving notice, the deposit will be forfeit. If, after arrival, you need to shorten your visit and fail to provide 48 hours notice of your new departure date, you will be liable for a supplementary charge equal to the cost of one night's booking, in addition to the cost of the actual number of days stayed. If there is a minimum number of nights applicable (weekend and holiday nights and during some trade fairs) a part-cancellation cannot take the number of nights below this minimum. We recommend the purchase of travel insurance. Please note the Hotel does not accept children under 12 years of age as guests, nor pets, and that we will not take bookings from hen or stag nights - if you are reserving more than three rooms, please provide further information about the nature of your group.
