The Hotel is situated just 200 metres from Meadfoot Bay...a delightful, unspoilt beach which holds the coveted EC Blue flag for cleanliness, and where you can relax and watch the tide roll in and out. The hotel offers free parking for cars and operates a no smoking policy except for in a designated area of the bar lounge.
Bar & Television Lounges
You can relax in our spacious and comfortable Television Lounge that is available for guests to use at any time or enjoy the company of friends or fellow guests whilst enjoying a drink during the evening in the Bar Lounge. Both rooms retain the style and decorative features from the Victorian era with sash bay windows, 11-foot ceilings and decorative cornices and doorways. In the Television Lounge you will also find a selection of books to read and board games including favourites such as Scrabble, Chess and Draughts.
The Bar Lounge is separated into two areas with a combined seating capacity of 30 and our Bar has a good selection of wines, beers, spirits and liqueurs. Smoking in the hotel is restricted to one of these areas.
Bedrooms
The hotel provides rooms to suit a wide range of requirements. As well as standard double, twin and single rooms the hotel has a family room which can accommodate up to 5 people and rooms in which an extra bed or cot can be included in comfort. A double and two single rooms are located on the ground floor with level access to the lounge, bar, dining room and car park. All bedrooms are individually furnished and tastefully decorated, have en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or shower cubicle and have a range of complimentary toiletries. All are equipped with radio alarm clocks, television and tea and coffee making facilities and all are maintained to a high standard.
A number a rooms on the second floor have either direct access to the garden or a balcony and these can be reserved for a small supplement
Restaurant
We pride ourselves on Home-cooking, where the freshest of ingredients and vegetables are used to prepare traditional fayre.
We can cater for the vegetarian and certain other special diets (with notice). Each day of the week offers a different menu inviting you to choose from a choice of meat, fish, vegetarian or salad options. Please ensure you pre-book your table in the restaurant to avoid disappointment. From North: Follow the M5 to Exeter. Exit the M5 at Junction 31 onto the A38 following signs for Torquay. From the A38 turn onto the A380 and follow this road into Torquay heading for the Seafront.
From West: Follow A38 from Plymouth. Take Totnes Turning A385 and follow signs to Paignton and then from there Signs to Torquay.
At the Traffic Lights at the sea front, turn left. Signposted to the HARBOUR & to MEADFOOT (if travelling from Paignton you are already on this road - keep going straight)
Go Straight over next traffic lights
Turn left at Roundabout, this will take you past Hoopers and Debenhams
Turn left at the next roundabout (clock tower in centre of roundabout)
Take right lane at first Traffic lights and turn right into Meadfoot Road.
(signs to Meadfoot Beach)
Continue for half mile (the road turns into Meadfoot Sea Road at brow of the hill)
. Meadfoot Bay Hotel is on the right hand side as the road starts to go down hill.
