The Britannia Hotel is set in a residential area close to Stockport town, 8 miles from Manchester City and Airport.
We are an ideal base for those travelling from the airport or a base for exploring Manchester and the Peak District.
The M60 is only a few minutes by car from the hotel and makes travel to Manchester, the Trafford Centre and the Lowry Centre quick and easy. The Peak District with its National Park, picturesque villages and wealth of caves is only 30 minutes away.The hotel itself offers a large array of function facilities, hotel bar and restaurant and 'Spindles' leisure centre, complete with indoor pool, gymnasium and solarium.
Manchester International Airport is a 20 minute drive. For inclusive parking rates a company called Premier Parking is used. On check in, you will receive a parking voucher which you fill out and then take with you to the airport. When arriving at Manchester Airport, follow the signs for Premier Parking and they will take the voucher from you and park your car. Double bed and double sofa bed makes up this en-suite family room. Parking is offsite and based at Manchester Airport. Cars are collected from the Hotel by VIP Parking who then take the car to a compound at Manchester Airport. Cars are returned to you outside the terminal on your return journey. Parking can be prior to or after the guests stay at the hotel.

From M60 East
Leave at junction 27 signposted for Stockport East. Take the 4th main exit signposted Buxton. Go through the first set of traffic lights, stay in the outside lane to the lights at the top. Go straight through the lights for approximately half a mile, through the crossing lights, and at the next set of traffic lights, turn left and follow Hempshaw Lane for approximately 1 mile to the next traffic lights. Turn right into Dialstone Lane and about 150 yards down the road on the left is the Hotel.
From A6 Stockport and Manchester
From Manchester, follow the A6 to Stockport.
Go through Stockport town centre, follow the A6 and proceed along the main road past the Town Hall and College until you reach the traffic lights by the Bamford Arms/travel Inn. Turn left into Nangreave Road, follow it until you reach the traffic lights and turn left into Dialstone Lane. The Hotel is approximately 50 yards down the road on your right.
From A6 Buxton
Proceed along the A6 towards Stockport. Go through Hazel Grove and, when you reach the traffic lights by the George and Dragon Public House, carry on to the next set of lights, then bear right into Dialstone Lane.
Follow the road for 1.5 miles, then through another set of lights and you will see the Hotel on your right hand side.
By Rail
The nearest station is Stockport town centre, a 25 minute walk or 3.50 by taxi. From the station, turn left and proceed to the A6 Wellington Road. Turn right and proceed up the A6 for 1 mile to the Bamford Arms Travel Inn. Turn left and proceed to the first set of traffic lights. Turn left again into Dialstone Lane and the Hotel is situated 50 yards down on the right hand side. | | Business Facilities: |
