The White Horse Hotel stands on the market square in the historic and affluent town of Romsey and is within easy walking distance of Romsey Abbey, Broadlands (the stately country home of the Viscount Mountbatten and, in the past, the residence of the British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston) and Kings John's House. In 1776 the White Horse had thirty five bedrooms, stabling for 50 horses and room for four carriages.
The White Horse has been a coaching inn since the 14th century and as a three star hotel today, it has the enviable combination of all the modern facilities and a wealth of history, tradition and character. All the public rooms including the bar, à la carte restaurant and lounge, and the bedrooms maintain the original oak beams with some sections of the hotel containing the original painted plasterwork.
Attention to detail in everything we do ensures that we offer a combination of high standards, warmth and hospitality and a personal touch. You can spend your by candle light in our Courtyard Restaurant, which combines informality in a relaxed atmosphere with smart traditional decor and an excellent modern European menu.  From the West
After leaving the M27 at junction 2, take the A3090 to Romsey, turn left to the Town Centre. The road bears to the left, but carry straight on and follow the road around to the right. At the traffic lights on Winchester Road turn left into Alma Road. At the next traffic lights turn left into Station road, follow the road into Latimer Street and then, directly opposite Judge's Wine Bar, turn right into the Hotel car park.
From the North, East or South
Join the M27 west from the M3 or Southampton and exit at junction 3.
Follow signs to Romsey and you will join above map marked Southampton A27. Follow yellow highlights to the Hotel car park.
Nearest rail station is Romsey, a ten minute walk straight down Station Road and Latimer Street into the Hotel car park.

We have two conference rooms the Fontwell (80 persons) and the Windsor (40 persons) suites which are at the rear of the hotel. Both rooms have an abundance of natural light airconditioning and comprehensive facilities. The White horse can also cater for functions and events of upto 120 persons in the function suite.
