| Hotel Description: | Ideally situated, being only level yards from the seafront, town, shops, harbour and main railway and coach stations.
Non-smoking hotel 'close to everywhere'.
Freda & Steve look forward to welcoming you to the totally NO SMOKING CLIFTON HOTEL. We like to think we're more like a home from home than a hotel, located just off the sea front and 'close to everywhere'. Chef proprietor Steve uses only the freshest of ingredients and takes great pride in his cooking, so you can be sure of a varied and interesting menu with an international flavour if you choose to have dinner.
The hotel has a well stocked, attractive bar where you can relax or perhaps enjoy an evening drink.
Much as we'd love to entertain you through the winter, it is our policy to close at the end of September until Easter, so we hope we'll be blessed with a visit from you between those dates.

| | Getting There: |
If you are coming by car from the north/east:
Leave the M5 motorway/a38 following Torquay signs - fabulous scenery at this point. At the roundabout at Kingskerwell the traffic slows (and I mean slows) to a single lane. At the next roundabout English Riviera (there's a palm tree emblem on the embankment on the LHS) turn right onto the ring road for Paignton. Turn left at the second roundabout to Preston. Preston is not on the green sign, but on a white one after the green one. Follow the road down to the traffic lights at the junction (beautiful view of the bay as you descend).
Go straight over into Seaway Road. Follow that road under the railway bridge, bearing right. The sea is now on your LHS beyond a wide expanse of grass. Keep going until you see the Apollo Cinemas looming, and Kernou Road is on the RHS just before the pedestrian crossing between the Spinning Wheel and the another hostelry. We're the Green one on the LHS down there. Please park as close as you can to the left hand side on the front of the hotel - ignoring the white lines, which were marked (we think) to accommodate very small cars!
- Have a safe journey.
If you're coming by train or coach, head towards Woolworths out of the stations and turn right towards the seafront. At the crossroads, turn left then first right (ignore the service road) into Kernou Road. You're still heading towards the seafront, and we're on the RHS just around the corner - these are very short distances. | | Local Attractions: | Seaside Distance: 0 miles
